About Murrow College.
During the past decade, The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication has consistently ranked nationally for research publications and submissions:
- 9th in the nation by Journalism & Mass Communication for articles published and 13th for articles submitted from 1993-2013
- Ranked #1 in the nation by ComVista in three research areas: Advertising, Literacy (i.e. media literacy) and Drugs (Substance Abuse Prevention).
- Listed among the top ten research programs in 27 of 99 research areas (by CIOS.)
- In 2014, the journalism program was ranked in the top 20 nationally by a survey done by NewsPro Magazine, and RTDNA.
Murrow College graduate, Jake Sirianni, created a rap about The Tonight Show that eventually landed him an internship.
Murrow has given thousands the opportunity to exhibit and explore their own creativity and interests.
The Murrow college has helped to develop individuals through experimental learning with state-of-the-art facilities provide exposure to and mastery of digital production and content creation technologies,
The Murrow college maintains worldwide connections through strategic partnerships, student internships, and professional learning experiences.
The Murrow college has gave students internships, international learning opportunities, scholarships, and experimental education opportunities with companies such as Boeing and Harold Frank Entrepreneurship.
The Murrow college is ranked as a top ten research program in 21 of 99 research areas by the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship (CIOS). Murrow faculty conduct leading research in media and health promotion, science and environmntal communication, and media, society and politics.
